Results of the Gastroparesis Research Study

In June of 2015 a research was granted to Wisdom by Nature through The Association for the International Research of Aromatic Science and Education (AIRASE) Foundation. The purpose was to evaluate how essential oils can support digestion to improve quality of life for people challenged with gastroparesis. Specific Objectives for this project:

  1. The determination of how essential oils support digestion and eliminate inflammation in the body as well as lessen the symptoms of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloating, constipation, stomach pain, fear, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, and insomnia.

  2. Follow six volunteers over a period of 4 months who have been clinically diagnosed with gastroparesis. Supply volunteers with essential oil blends and creates a plan that supports digestion and aids in healing the mind, body, and spirit on a cellular level.

  3. Redaction of results and publication.

We are excited to announce that our study was a success and is published in the journal Holistic Nursing Practice , The Science of Health and Healing!  We had zero negative feedback and everyone had some kind of improvement, which gives hope to so many people today living with GP. Using the essential oils and making suggested lifestyle adjustments show that it is possible to improve quality of life.

We have recently put in a request for a second study to be done - the evaluation of how essential oils may support digestion to improve quality of life for people on enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support challenged with gastroparesis. The goal is to bring this to the attention to the medical field how using aromatherapy for GP patients on nutrition support will give them the ability to improve quality of life. Getting the attention of the AIRASE research board is a huge step forward on this journey and we have the ability to truly start making a difference on how GP is handled. We are dedicated to making this change and for changing how GP is addressed in the medical profession!
